- If you're renting a non-plated scooter with pedals and if you're over 18 years old, you don’t need a driver's license. However, you should still bring two of the following photo IDs: driver’s license / Sunlife card / passport / citizenship card.

- If you're renting a plated scooter, you'll need a valid car driver's license with another government-issued piece of ID. You'll also need to be over 21 years old.

Non-plated scooters with pedals

No, you don’t need a driver's license if you're over 18 years old. However, you must show valid photo IDs and proof of age (driver’s licence, Sunlife card, passport, etc.) at the store. In the province of Quebec, our pedals e-scooters are legally classified as power-assisted bicycles. This means that they are bound by the same laws that apply to traditional bikes, not motorcycles or cars. If you're under 18, you're welcome to ride as a passenger. You must also be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who will sign a liability waiver.

Plated scooters

Yes, you’ll need a car driver's license. You must show a valid driver's license and proof of age (driver’s licence, Sunlife card, passport, etc.) at the rental location. Plated scooters are considered motor vehicles. This means that they are bound by the same laws that apply to cars or 50cc gas scooters. If you're under 21, you're welcome to ride as a passenger.

Once you return your rental, the pre-authorization is immediately voided, but it may take up to 15 days to be released by your bank. You are free to reschedule your booking at any time without penalty. Contact us with the details of your previous reservation. A confirmation of modification will be sent by email, chat, SMS or confirmed over the phone. Credit will be refunded to the original payment method within 10 business days.

Modifications are based on scooters availability.

Cancellation

You are free to cancel your booking at any time without penalty. Notify us that you'd like to cancel, and we will issue a 100% refund. Credit will be refunded to the original payment method within 10 business days.

To modify or cancel a reservation, contact us directly with the details of your reservation.

Once you return your rental, we immediately void your preauthorization, but it may take up to 15 days to be released by your bank.

You'll be refunded to the same payment method you used for your booking.

We process approved refunds within 1-3 business days.

Once the refund is issued on our end, your bank or credit card provider can take up to 15 business days to issue the funds back to your account. It can also take longer if you're with a non-Canada or non-US bank. If your refund hasn’t appeared after 15 days, please contact your bank directly and ask about pending refunds on your account. You can provide them the transaction ID that appears in the refund receipt as a reference.

You can go on public roads with a posted speed limit of 50km/h. Since these scooters are usually slower than traffic, stick to the right of traffic as you would with a regular bike.

Plated Scooters

Plated scooters with a top speed of 70 km/h can travel on roadways with a posted speed limit of 70 km/h or less. Plated scooters with a top speed of 45 km/h should only travel on public roads with a posted speed limit of 50 km/h or less.

You cannot ride on sidewalks, walkways or pedestrian streets.

In most cities, you cannot ride on bike paths or lanes.

It depends on the type of electric scooter.

Non-Plated Scooters with Pedals

Yes. You can park them on the sidewalk. Canada and US cities where we are located legally classifies these as electric bicycles. This means that they can park on the boulevard (the space between the walking part of the sidewalk and the curb), just like a bicycle. However, it is illegal for them to park on the sidewalk walkway itself, that is, the space set aside for people to walk. You can be ticketed if they obstruct the walking path.

Plated Scooters

No. You cannot park them on the sidewalk. As they are considered motor vehicles and are subject to the same rules, it is illegal to park a plated scooter on the sidewalk. Most cities offer dedicated and free parking areas for motorcycles/scooters.

Our electric scooters are fully legal for use on public roads anywhere in Montreal or Toronto.
